3. How to update
Add KRA submission
A submission represents a discrete act of depositing data (a transaction). A submission has a temporary non-public ID in the form of SUB#
. You cannot add more data to a completed submission. Instead, updates are made to the BioProject.
In order to update your BioProject with new samples and/or KRA data you should create a new KRA submission. During this process, you must provide the BioProject accession (KAP#
) of the project you want to update in the appropriate field at the BioProject information step.
Please note that you cannot directly add data to a completed submission. Any updates or additional data must be submitted as a new submission referencing the relevant BioProject.
If you obtain a certificate (specific to Korean users), you can no longer create new submissions under that BioProject. In cases where a new submission is required after the certificate has been issued, you must create a new BioProject. The newly created BioProject can be linked to the previously registered BioProject through an Umbrella Project.
Please ensure that no further submissions are needed before obtaining the certificate, as creating a new BioProject will be necessary for any additional submissions.
Manage data
Go to My Data > Manage Data on K-BDS MYPAGE, then find the BioProject of interest by browsing, searching, or filtering all your data. Once you locate it, click the BioProject Accession (PRJNA#) to display its page.

The BioProject' page allows you to:
Generate Review's link (for unreleased BioProject only)
Check History
Edit Publication and Patent Information
Apply for Certificate (Only available on the Korean page)
Update attributes
To update other attributes of the BioProject or BioSample, KRA Experiment, please contact KRA staff at kra@kribb.re.kr
After the RUN is fully loaded, neither its files can be replaced nor filenames can be changed. You will have to submit new files in a separate submission using existing BioProject and BioSample accessions in the KRA metadata and request withdrawal of the RUN containing the old files.
Change status
This page documents the steps to Suppress or Withdraw KRA data that are already public. For instance, a user may want to suppress data that were released prior to the publication of the accompanying manuscript. For more information on K-BDS data processing and further details about data status, please see our Data Processing
KRA follows INSDC policy for withdrawal and suppression requests: http://www.insdc.org/submitting-standards/insdc-status-document/
KRA doesn`t directly manage the status of sequence data that are submitted to other INSDC members (NCBI, EBI, DDBJ). You must work directly with those INSDC members to change the status of those data
You can request a status change for each KRA run if it meets the following criteria :
The accession's status is Public
You wish to Suppress or Withdraw the accession
When possible, we generally prefer to update an existing submission rather than delete it. If you want to change the data status, please send your request with the following contents to the KRA staff at kra@kribb.re.kr
