5. Frequently asked questions
How should I cite KRA accession numbers in publications?
Please cite accession numbers according to instructions of submitting publications.
The raw sequence data reported in this paper have been deposited in the Korea Sequence Read Archive (KRA) in Korea Bioinformation Center, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KAPxxxxxxx) that are publicly accessible at https://kbds.re.kr/KRA.
How to provide my private data to journal reviewers?
Reviewer access services are available in K-BDS My Page -> My Data -> Manage data
Access the information page using the BioProject Accession number
Select the target BioProject
Click on [Create reviewer link +]
Copy activated link in list of Manage Data page
Send the generated URL link to the reviewer
Note: The link expires after the release of the data and the KRA provides access to the metadata only.

How do I get a data certificate?
Data Certificate can be issued by in K-BDS My Page -> My Data -> Manage data (Only available on the Korean page)
Note: If you issue a data certificate, you can no longer add a new submission to the the BioProject.
I received notification that my submission has been released. Why can't I find it in Browse?
It may take up to 3 days for your submission to be searchable in Browse. Additionally, please check the access type of your submission if needed
How do I delete my submission in KRA submission before registration?
To delete KRA submissions please contact KRA staff for assistance at kra@kribb.re.kr. Provide DSUB#
and reason. To delete BioProject or BioSample submissions please contact BioProject or BioSample staff at kbds@kribb.re.kr. respectively Provide PSUB#, SSUB#
and reason.
The related submission can be checked on the K-BDS Mypage.
How do I add more samples to my KRA submission?
Submission is a discrete act of depositing data (transaction). You cannot add data to a submission. Instead, you need to add new samples and new KRA data and/or new KRA data to existing samples to a BioProject. In order to update your BioProject with new samples and/or KRA data you should create a new KRA submission.
However, if you issue a certificate (specific to Korean users), you can no longer create new submissions under that BioProject. In cases where a new submission is required after the certificate has been issued, you must create a new BioProject. The newly created BioProject can be linked to the previously registered BioProject through an Umbrella Project.
My manuscript has been published. How do I update my KRA submission with the publication?
Contact the K-BDS staff at kbds@kribb.re.kr to add the Publication ID or Patent ID. Clink [publications or patent Save] button in My Page -> My Data -> Manage data
How do I improve/correct my metadata after submitting?
Please contact KRA staff for assistance at kra@kribb.re.kr.
How do I withdraw my BioProject/Experiment/Run in KRA (KAP#/KAE#/KAR#) ?
KRA follows INSDC policy for withdrawal and suppression requests: http://www.insdc.org/documents/insdc-status-document
If you want to change the data status, please send your request with the following contents to the KRA staff at kra@kribb.re.kr

How do I access public KRA data file?
You can access the public KRA data through https. You can retrieve the file path by searching accession numbers in the KRA Search.

If you want to download a high-speed fild or analysis using BioExpress, use GBox.
How to restore the released data to private?
In principle KRA can not restore any published data. See also following item about access restriction.
You can't remove your read sequence data, if it has already been open to the public (If KRA wrongly published your data because of any mistakes, the data should be removed as soon as possible).
However, if there is some specific reason for removing your sequence data (i.e. some error is found, etc.), we can restrict access to your sequence data.
Please send your request with the following contents to KRA staff.
Accession numbers:
Reason in brief:
New hold-date: (e.g. 2028/01/01)
If we restrict access to your sequence data and remove it from the public view, then it will no longer be included in search services. However, it may remain in other third party databases, and will still be retrievable in Search page by accession number based queries.
Moreover, our unified database may be copied and redistributed without permission at any other organizations. In case you need to withdraw your entry from such database, we ask you to make request directly to the organization which manages the database.
Refer to INSDC Status Document https://www.insdc.org/submitting-standards/insdc-status-document/
How to request data release?
