The KNA metadata describes the overall design of the experiment and the explanation of submitted data. Most descriptive information is captured at the level of the KNA submission and will be displayed in the public record. It is, therefore, imperative that submitters provide clear and informative Titles and Descriptions for each nucleotide sequence.

The organizational framework of the KNA data is based on the concepts of BioProject, BioSample, KNA.

For KNA submission, click on [KNA main page ⇨ Submit]

Submission type
Among the submission types displayed on the screen, select and click the one that corresponds to the data you want to submit. Please refer to 2-4.KNA submission type for a detailed explanation.

Project & Sample information
Click [Search BioProject] and select the BioProject from the popup window.
Click [Search BioProject] and select the BioSample from the popup window.
[New BioProject Submission] : Select if BioProject submission has not been completed previously. (refer to BioProject Submission Quick guide )
[New BioSample Submission] : Select if BioSample submission has not been completed previously. (refer to BioSample Submission Quick guide)
Release date
Select the release date.
For reasons such as manuscript preparation, It can be selected for up to 3 years in the initial submission, with an option for an additional extension of up to 2 years upon request. The data will be automatically released after the selected date, and the responsibility for the release date lies with the submitter

Sequence & Files
Fill in the Sequence File section and upload annotation files and other additional files. For detailed methods, refer to 2-2.KNA File upload.
KNA Metadata
Fill in the metadata information in order. For the description of all fields in KNA, refer to the KNA metadata guide.
Write the metadata & sequence information
Submit
Click the [Submit] button at the bottom of the screen.
※ If there is a large amount of data, it may take some time.
Validation failed: A notice appears, and if you close it, you can check the error sign on the left side of the KNA submission page.
Validation passed: A notice appears, and you have to choose whether to submit it or not. If you want to submit, click [Data submission]. If you do not want to submit, click [Cancel].
※ [Edit] and [Delete] are not permitted before quality control rejection after data submission.
The submission is completed along with the message “Your data have been submitted successfully.”
[Submit to KNA]: Move to KNA Submission page.
[My Submission]: Move to My Submission page at [MYPAGE ⇨ My data ⇨ My Submissions].
