This guide provides instructions for filling out the metadata for the KNA. Refer to the attached file (KNA_metadata_info_temp.pdf), which includes descriptions for each field.
For Genome, Metagenome-assembled genome (MAG), TSA, and TLS submission
If you wish to submit data related to Genome, MAG, TSA, or TLS, you must enter the BioProject & BioSample information and the release date first. Then, you need to fill in the fields for Sample name, Sequence file, Annotation file format, Annotation file, and Metadata upload. The Sequence file should be in FASTA format (refer to 2-5. File format guide), and the Metadata file should be downloaded as an Excel file, completed with the required information, and uploaded. The Excel file consists of multiple sheets, each corresponding to different data types.
Data upload section for Genome, MAG, TSA, and TLS
Below is an overview of the sheets and guidelines for completing them correctly.
2-3-1. Overview of Sheets
Genome: Metadata related to genome sequences.
Metagenome (MAGs): Metadata for metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs).
Sequence information (Genome): Detailed sequence information for genomes.
Nucleotide (TLS): Metadata for targeted loci sequencing (TLS).
Nucleotide (TSA): Metadata for transcriptome shotgun assembly (TSA).
Sequence information (Nucleo): Detailed sequence information for nucleotide.
2-3-2. General Guidelines
All fields must be written in English.
Mandatory Fields: Ensure all required fields (marked in green) are completed.
Standardized Formats: Follow the predefined format for some fields (e.g., date format as YYYY-MM-DD, taxonomic names using NCBI taxonomy).
2-3-3. Sheet-Specific Instructions
Genome & Metagenome / Nucleotide Information (TLS, TSA)
Include reference, assembly, sequencing method, and nucleotide information.
Provide details of protocol information if available.
