2-4. KNA file upload
File upload based on a web browser via HTTP
① Files can be directly uploaded through HTTP on the KNA Submission page.
The web browser upload option is availiable when each file is smaller than 10GB and the total number of files does not exceed 500. When the file size or number exceeds the above limits, files must be uploaded via GBox (refer to File upload using GBox)
② GBox-uploaded files can be imported as follows:
Click “Importing GBox Files” on the screen
In the pop-up window, select the desired file from the uploaded path.
File Upload Fields:
Fill in the Sequence File section in FASTA format
If you have an annotation file, upload it in the Annotation file format section.
Please upload any additional files in Others section.
Accepted file format:
FASTA file (for sequence), Only files with the .fasta extension are allowed
GFF file (for annotation)
Custom format (for other)
Please refer to 2-5.File format guide page for more details about file format.

File upload using GBox
GBox is a software that allows users to transfer large volumes of data quickly using software technology without the need for additional plugins such as ActiveX (https://www.kobic.re.kr/kobic/analysis/download)
Run GBox and log in with the K-BDS account. If GBox is not available, install it before proceeding
Move to the folder on user’s PC containing the files to upload through [File Explorer] or [File Browser]
After selecting the folder or file to upload in [File Explorer], right-click (Upload) or drag it to [GBox Explorer] to upload the data ※ Only one folder should be applied per submission ※ Create sub-folders in GBox: Make sub-folders by right-click (New > Folder) in [GBox Explorer] and double-click to move into it
Considerations when using GBox for file transfer error (upload and download)
A transfer error may occur if there are special characters other than spaces, Korean, underscores (_), hyphens (-), or periods (.) in the full path, including the file name
Transfer error may occur due to speed differences when transferring from external hard drives of USB paths
Transfer error may occur in the case of empty files of 0B
Transfer error may occur in cases of other problems with the files themselves such as damaged files
After the data is uploaded, the upload progress can be checked in the Progress window. Once the upload is completed, the uploaded files or folders will appear in [GBox Explorer]
