Making submission in KRA

For KRA submission, click on [KRA main page ⇨ Submit ⇨ Submit KRA]
※ The KRA Main page can be accessed by clicking on [Insert] in the K-BDS submission page or by visiting the URL (https://kbds.re.kr/KRA)

Project information
Click [Search the BioProject] and select the BioProject from the popup window
[New BioProject Submission] : Select if BioProject submission has not been completed previously (refer to BioProject Submission Quick guide )
[New BioSample Submission] : Select if BioSample submission has not been completed previously (refer to BioSample Submission Quick guide)

Release date
Select the release date
If "Release immediately following processing" is selected, the data will be released immediately after the submission is complete
If "Release on specified date" is selected, the data will be released on the specified date.
For reasons such as manuscript preparation, It can be selected for up to 3 years in the initial submission, with an option for an additional extension of up to 2 years upon request. The data will be automatically released after the selected date, and the responsibility for the release date lies with the submitter

File
There are two primary methods to provide files during submission, and you may select your preferred option. For detailed method, refer to KRA File upload
GBox : all files for a submission must be uploaded into a single folder. Enter the path of the raw data uploaded via GBox.
e.g., K-BDS storage path: /userID/target_folder/

Web browser upload via HTTP : Do not use web browser upload if you are uploading files over 100 GB or more than 500 files.

KRA Metadata
For the description of all fields in KRA, See the Standard metadata of KRA. and write the KRA metadata
Enter directly the metadata in KRA template
Download the template, fill in the required details, and then upload the completed file

Sheet composition within the metadata template
[KRA_Metadata] : Complete the KRA metadata form and upload it
[MD5_Checksums] : Enter checksum value of all raw file
[BioSample] : Check the BioSample information within the BioProject (e.g. sample type, sample name)
[Library and Platform Terms] : List of allowed values and descriptions for the Library (strategy, source, selection) field, and the list of instrument models according to the allowed platform values for the Platform field
[Analysis and File Terms] : List of raw file formats that can be submitted in the KRA and analysis type
Considerations when filling out the KAD sheet
The sample name in BioSample can only be used as the sample name (refer to BioSample sheet) ※ Sample name & accession ID will be converted from temporary to formal ID after registration.
The library name must be unique within the BioProject and be generated in the format: [Sample name]_[Library strategy or source]
The title is automatically generated in the format : [Instrument model] [Layout] Sequencing of [Sample name]
The following field names* can only be selected from specified terms. However, if the instrument models are not included in the terms, set the platform as 'unspecified' and enter the model name
* Field names: Library strategy, Library source, Library selection, Library layout, Platform, Instrument model, File type, Analysis type, Reference type
When entering Multiple files for one Run, they must be separated by semicolons(;) (Cases of Paired-end, mulitple lanes, and Pacbio) ※ KRA Metadata can be submitted up to a maximum of 2,000 rows at a time. If there are more than 2,000 rows to submit, additional KRA submissions need to be carried out.
When submitting alignment BAM files, the following fields must be completed: 'reference type', 'RefSeq' / 'assembly'
Submit
Click the [Submit] button at the bottom of the screen ※ If there is a large amount of data, it may take some time

Validation failed: a notice appears and, and if you closes it, you can check the error report on the left side of KRA spreadsheet
Error report contains field name, Row number, reason for the validation failure (The cells in the spreadsheet are highlighted in red)

Validation passed: A notice appears, and you have to choose whether to submit it or not. If you want to submit, click [Confirm] ※ [Edit] and [Delete] are not permitted before quality control rejection after data submission
The submission is completed along with the message “Your submission is completed”
[Submit to KRA] : Move to KRA Submission page
[My Submission] : Move to My Submission page at [MYPAGE ⇨ My data ⇨ My Submissions]
